In 1910, a vicious plague hit portions of South Africa (picture is of doctors helping the sick in the plague), the plague had spread so wide that in less than a month, one quarter of the entire population had died.
In desperate attempts, the government was offering any nurses $1,000 who could help care for the sick ($1,000 was ALOT of money back then) John G. Lake and his assistants went to help however, free of charge. Having had a medical background, Lake was fit to help care for the sick.
They would visit houses, bring out the dead and bury them, but they never were touched with the plague themselves!
One doctor asked Lake “What have you been doing to protect yourself? You must have a secret!” To which Lake replied “Brother, it is the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. I believe that just as long as I keep my soul in contact with the living God so that His Spirit is flowing into my soul and body, that no germ will ever attach itself to me, for the Spirit of God will kill it.”
