There are three important things anointing does when the anointed man of God anoint a man by God instruction.
You meet three important men, which are:
- THOSE CARRYING VITAL INFORMATION
1 Samuel 10:1-2 (KJV)
1 Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the Lord hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance? 2 When thou art departed from me today, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel’s sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?
When Samuel anointed Saul as a king over Israel, he told him prophetically events linning up his path on his way back to his homeland specifically the kind of men he (saul ) will meet on his way. By the Spirit of God, Samuel told Saul he will meet those who will give him information, he will meet those who will give him provision and those who will activate the residual of the grace of God upon him.
Why would Saul meet these people? Because of the anointing resting upon him. Sometimes, it takes the anointing and the favour of God to meet certain men!
The first set of men Saul met on his way from the prophet gave him a vital information:
Verse 2…. When thou art departed from me today, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel’s sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?
This information was needful for Saul because he actually came out and travelled far and almost got lost seeking these asses when he found a kingdom.
The prophet had told him by the function of the gift of the Spirit that the asses had been found but there was a need for him to meet those who will further confirm the discovery to him. That was double witness.
Today in these series, we begin with the need to meet those who give us information.
Information is very powerful, one information can change your life forever. You may be one information away from a breakthrough. Certain things you are looking for some people know where they are and it is important we are connected to such.
One information changed the life of Naaman the Syrian Army general who brought many victories to his country but was a leper.
It was a captured maid that gave Naaman’s household a vital information that led to his recovery from leprosy in Samaria:
2 Kings 5:3 (KJV)
3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
The cure for Naaman’s leprosy was available in Samaria but he was going to die as a leper if he wasn’t aware of the availability of the cure. That information made the difference between life and death. you need those who will give you vital informations!
In the case of David, God already told him about recovering what the Amalekites stole from him when they invaded Ziklag and burnt it down taking along his family and those of his men along with them as captives but he needed a vital information to track down the Amalekites.
While he was on his way tracking the steps of the Amalekites, he came across an abandoned Egyptian in the field who got sick and was abandoned by the gang that raided Ziklag.
1 Samuel 30:11-12 (KJV)
11 And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat, and they made him drink water; 12 And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.
David and his men had to resuscitate this dying man for days. Why was this man treated this much? It was because David recognized that the roadmap to recovering all he came out to recover was in that man! That dying Egyptian was carrying a piece of vital information; if he should die, it may be difficult for David to recover all. Finally, David was able to extract vital and timely information from him which eventually led to him recovering all that the Amalekites had stolen from him:
1 Samuel 30:15 (KJV)
15 And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company.
In the case of Naaman, it was a maid in his house that gave him the information that led to his cleansing from leprosy and in the case of David, it was a dying abandoned man that gave him the information that led to what he recovered again.
Sometimes, vital pieces of information such as you need may be hiding in the insignificant!
Learn to recognize them!
Let us continue again tomorrow.
